When we initially came to the decision to end purchasing support for PS3 and PS Vita, it was born out of a number of factors, including commerce support challenges for older devices and the ability for us to focus more of our resources on newer devices where a majority of our gamers are playing on. Sony later pulled a U-turn on their decision, issuing the following statement: This lead to fiery backlash from PlayStation fans, with a selection of rarer PS3 and PS Vita title rocketing in price on the second hand market. Originally, they had planned to remove hundreds of games listed for both systems which would later be unavailable to download even if you had purchased them. Earlier this year, many feared that a huge library of PS3 and PS Vita games would disappear as Sony announced it would close the digital store.
